Mixed Development Experience Still Possible?

Hey everyone, I’m new here looking for some help.

I’m currently moving from a different tool and looking to rebuild my sites here.

I’ve been playing around and one thing I LOVE is the AI builder in the ā€˜New Custom App’ section of the tool. But I also find myself wanting to make changes without having to use AI for every change.

Ideally, I’d love to build with AI, as well as having access to the drag and drop functionality /WYSIWYG.

I noticed in this update post, ( October 2025: cloud 3.152.0 and 3.152.0-rc.0 ) that users prior to this update ā€œcontinue to have access to the mixed development experience (drag-and-drop + AI)ā€.

However, is there a way to re enable this in settings somewhere? It seems like new users can either create a ā€˜Custom App’ - which I believe is AI first. Or a ā€˜New App’ which is drag + drop orientated.

The update sounds like new users don’t have access to this mixed development experience, but honestly I think the mixture is kind of a USP for UiBakery, no where else offers this combination. I’m a little bit confused on the difference between custom apps and new apps - but looking forward to dig deeper into the product and learn.

There is lots of AI tools that can gen UI, and couple other drag and drop tools - but nobody offers both (except UI Bakery for existing users maybe?)

Is there any way I can use the mixed development experience?

Thank you for any advice and great work

Hi @deve, thank you for your interest in our product!

There’s a way to use mixed development experience, but it’s a bit one-sided

You can create a low-code app with drag-and-drop default components and use Custom Component 2.0 there, but the opposite is not true for AI-generated apps. AI-generated apps can be edited via chat/code only.
