Context:
As a UI Bakery customer, Iโm already logged into the main platform (https://uibakery.io/) to manage my projects. However, when I want to participate in the UI Bakery Community, I need to create a separate account and go through an additional signup process.
Proposal:
It would be great to have Single Sign-On (SSO) integration between the main UI Bakery platform and the community forum (e.g. https://community.uibakery.io).
With SSO enabled, users who are already logged into their UI Bakery accounts could:
- Create a community account with one click, using their existing profile information; or
- Be automatically signed in to the community without needing to re-enter their credentials.
How it could work (technically):
- Discourse (the platform behind the community) already supports SSO via an external identity provider.
- In this setup, UI Bakery would act as the SSO provider โ meaning it verifies the userโs identity and passes basic details (name, email, avatar, etc.) to Discourse through a secure handshake.
- This is a standard, well-documented integration and can be implemented quite smoothly.
Benefits:
- Seamless user experience: no need for separate logins or duplicate accounts.
- Faster onboarding: new customers can immediately join discussions.
- Improved security & consistency: user accounts are managed centrally by UI Bakery.
- Increased engagement: lowers the barrier for customers to participate in the community.
I used a prompt to create this feature request so that all details are included. Hopefully this is not a problem. But this feature request would create a better user experience and I hope you can consider it.
Thanks!
